Advanced Writing and Performance

The goal of Stand-up 2 is to develop a working set of 10-15 minutes of material within a five week course. The class will promote consistent writing habits, industry standard performance etiquette, and hold the student accountable to daily material development.
The first step to getting work at any comedy club is through hosting. Included in the class is a Hosting Workshop, meant to prepare students to get and maintain paid work.
The class will also tackle basic promotion and networking strategies.
Students will be required to perform in at least one Scramble and be featured in a comedy showcase at the conclusion of the class.
Students are also required to see at least one stand-up comedy show at the Sacramento Comedy Spot.
