Jason Casey

Jason Casey is an enigma. A performer since he was born, he is a man of much mystery and speculation. One night he might be eating a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and butter, the next time he might be eating a bowl of piping hot Grape Nuts with butter and honey. He is a man layered in California history, who has lived all over the great state. At one point Jason was met with the enigma known as NYC…Manhattan to be exact. Ultimately the town was not big enough for both of their enigmas…so Jason, out of respect, left and ended up here in Sacramento. Jason happened upon the Sacramento Comedy Spot on a cool September evening in 2005, as he was leaving a slam poetry event where he had just been honored with the nickname, J-Dizzle. Since that fateful evening he has been a constant presence at the Sacramento Comedy Spot. In 2008 the reader’s of the Sacramento New and Review named Jason best actor in Sacramento. Due to his ongoing popularity the Sacramento News and Review is not allowing reader voting this year for Best Actor. When not performing, writing or teaching, Mr. Casey can be found on Facebook wasting time.
