Armed with only an Omni-chord and/or microphone, John Ross takes the tragic trials of his own life and transforms them into a peculiar, yet genuine presentation.
“He takes the life he was given with an almost absurd cheer and mines it for comedic gems hidden amidst the wreckage…. The end result is unique, hilarious and oddly touching.” – Rockass.net
Although being the first methadone-addicted child born in the great state of California, Ross’ successes reach far beyond the drug-addicted womb of his now late mother.
After only six-months of doing stand-up comedy, Ross was invited to perform at the world famous Impov in Hollywood, with the Heavy Hitters of Comedy and the Rebels of Comedy. He has since featured at clubs all over the West Coast, including, The SF and Sacramento Punch Line, The Purple Onion, Laughs Unlimited, Seattle’s Comedy Underground, The Bagdad Theater, The Crest Theater, The LA and La Jolla Comedy Store, Pepperbelly’s, and The Tempe and San Jose Improv.
Ross has also produced many projects in the region such as, “Oddly Americana” and “The No Show Show.” He also toured with The Coexist Comedy Tour from 2007 to 2009 and writes for many local and national acts.
