Class Description
This class will teach you the basics of what you need at stand-up comedy’s “ground zero.” The 5-week course will prepare you on how to write, edit and perform the minimum 4-7 minutes of material that’s needed to function at the “open mic” level. The class will also focus on crowd control techniques, stage confidence and basic “scene” etiquette, as well as embed good writing/performing habits.

Students will be given several opportunities to perform during the course and will receive personal one-on-one feedback from the instructor.

Students are required to see two stand-up comedy shows at the Sacramento Comedy Spot before the conclusion of the class.
