STAND-UP CLASSES

Stand-up is the most recognizable form of performance-based comedy. Being successful, be it for fun or for a career, starts with learning to write your material, and then performing your set. Keep your skills sharp through workshops and shows like Open Mic.

Please visit our Student Resources page for more information about classes and enrollment.

Unless otherwise noted, all core classes meet at the Comedy Spot Training Center, at 915 T Street in Sacramento.

STAND-UP 201
  • Upcoming Start Dates:
    October 11 (Tuesdays)
    November 1 (Tuesdays)

You have at least five minutes of material and now you want to expand. Or maybe you have way more than five minutes, but you want some feedback and help tagging and punching up your jokes, and developing stage presence. In Stand-Up 201, our instructor watches students perform weekly at Comedy Spot’s Open Mic and then immediately provides feedback and discussion. This class is perfect for comedians who want to move to the next level.

Stand-up comedian

Open Mic stand-up comedy show is part of our up-and-coming talent night series. You see comedians that are new to performing, some seasoned veterans, and every level in between. Any comedian, regardless of skill, can perform. It’s exciting! It’s raw! It’s hilarious, AND sometimes not-so-hilarious, stand-up comedy.
