ALYSON MONSON

Alyson spent her childhood avoiding the deep end of her neighborhood pool driven by a sense of inevitable doom from great white shark attacks. On the weekends she’d stay up late and watch Saturday Night Live, and spend the following week reenacting the skits that made her parents laugh. In high school, Alyson channeled this obsession into theater and continued to avoid suspicious bodies of water.

Years later, when Alyson turned 40, she began to unravel! Betting her life was at least half over, she found a spiritual healer and asked how she could add more creativity in her life, and if her fear of great white sharks was an unnecessary use of her energy. She was instructed to return to the joys of her childhood. The healer also revealed that in a past life, Alyson and her cousin were the two orcas that killed the last megalodon. Her life’s intuitions were affirmed: all the great whites are indeed hunting them, driven by their need to avenge their ancestor in a most horrific and bloody way. 

Alyson then found her creative outlet at the Sacramento Comedy Spot in 2022. When not on stage, she travels with her family, hyper-focuses on unnecessary projects, and works in the yard by researching landscape architecture degree programs.  She has found peace and acceptance of her eventual deep-sea demise.
